Who this is for
Most managers have tried Claude and kept it for the occasional email. The hours still go to the same places every week: preparing for meetings, writing up decisions, pulling together what the team said. This day applies Claude to that work, sets up Projects as a shared team workspace and Cowork for recurring tasks, and spends the second half building. It is for managers, team leads and founders. No technical background needed.
Key takeaways
- Prepare a meeting briefing from your own documents with Claude.
- Draft a decision memo that sets out options, trade-offs and a recommendation you can defend.
- Turn meeting notes and transcripts into decisions, owners and open questions.
- Set up a Claude Project as a shared workspace with your team's context and instructions.
- Hand recurring tasks, such as a weekly status summary, to Cowork.
- Know which information never goes into an AI tool.
What we cover
- 01
Claude as a thinking partner
What Claude does well for a manager, where it goes wrong, and how to brief it like a capable new colleague.
- 02
Briefings and decision memos
Preparing for meetings from your own material; structuring a decision memo with options, risks and a clear recommendation.
- 03
Meeting synthesis
From notes and transcripts to decisions, owners and follow-ups, with a check of what the summary left out.
- 04
Projects, Cowork and data rules
Projects as a team workspace with shared context; Cowork for scheduled, recurring tasks; what never to paste in, and how the data terms of different plans differ.
- 05
Build block (half day)
Each manager builds two workflows on their own tasks, tests them on real material and leaves with both running.
Tools we use
How it's taught
Half the day is building. Participants bring real, non-confidential material from their own week, such as an agenda, a set of notes or a decision in progress, and leave with two workflows they have already run, not a list of prompts to try later.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need technical skills?
No. Everything happens in Claude's normal interface and desktop app. If you can brief a colleague by email, you can do the build block.
Which Claude plan do we need?
Each participant needs a Claude account. Some features depend on the plan: Cowork and its scheduled tasks run on paid plans, and sharing Projects across a team works on Team and Enterprise plans. We check your setup before the day so nobody spends the build block waiting for access.
What should never go into Claude?
That depends on your plan's terms and your company's rules, and we go through both on the day. As a baseline: no passwords or access keys, no personal data you have no basis to process, no client material your contracts keep confidential, and nothing your company classifies as secret. Commercial and consumer plans have different data terms, and the difference matters.
What are the two working workflows?
Two tasks from your own week that Claude now does with you in a repeatable way: for example, a Monday briefing built from last week's notes, or a decision-memo template inside a team Project. You choose them; we build and test them in the room.
How is this different from the AI Literacy course?
AI Literacy is a half day for every employee and covers safe, basic use. Claude for Managers is a full day for people who run teams, and most of it goes into building workflows in Claude.
